Samsung Galaxy S20 series specs, release date, news and rumours

Samsung's Galaxy S20 and S20+ are expected to launch on 11 February. Formerly known as the Galaxy S11, it now looks like Samsung is changing the name, with three devices expected in the Galaxy S20 family.
This feature rounds up all the leaks, rumours and speculation surrounding the next Galaxy S flagships. Here's everything we know so far about the next Samsung Galaxy S.
According to reports from Korean media, the S20 name was confirmed by Samsung in a meeting behind closed doors at CES 2020, and we've now seen the phone's startup screen with S20 on it so this looks like it's confirmed.
We also have some model numbers: SM-G980, SM-G985/6, SM-G988 are expected to be the model numbers for these devices - and the codename is thought to be Hubble, like the telescope, for the S20 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S20 release date and price

  • 11 February launch event confirmed
  • 6 March shipping date in the US
  • From £799/€899 for the Galaxy S20
Samsung has announced that Galaxy Unpacked will take place on 11 February. The company hasn't officially confirmed what will be announced, but we suspect it will be the S20 series and the Galaxy Z Flip, its new folding phone. The location is confirmed to take place in San Francisco and will start at 11am PST, 7pm GMT.
There has been a comprehensive set of pricing leaks for the Galaxy S20 family of devices, although take these with a pinch of salt:
  • Galaxy S20 4G £799/€899, 5G £874/€999
  • Galaxy S20+ 4G £999, 5G £1047/€1099
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G 128GB £1149/€1349, 512GB €1549
That's an expensive array of devices and suggests that we're not really getting an S10e replacement. We can't help feeling that the Galaxy S10 Lite is the new "affordable" option, with these new devices sitting above.
